Hi! I’m Kelly Casillas
Sewing and pattern drafting has been a passion of mine since I was in middle school. I set out and earned a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Merchandising and Management from Cal Poly Pomona in Southern California. While studying I focused on apparel production and the technical side of creating a garment from start to finish. I completed internships in nearby Downtown LA and worked in the industry after graduation.
I started At First Blush Patterns because on my journey I discovered that I love the craft and skill of sewing beautiful, delicate items rather than the hustle and bustle of the fashion industry. When I became interested in sewing lingerie there was limited information online to help me get started.
As my love for designing and sewing lingerie grew I met so many others who were too scared to sew lingerie simply from a lack of knowledge. I created this site as a resource to all who want to sew lingerie but are confused on where to start.

More about me – I have two hometowns Seattle (born and raised) and Los Angeles (adolescence and on). I grew up in both places but have lived in LA longer. I am married to my high school sweetheart. Our first baby is our gentle giant kitty named Howard. We welcomed our second baby into the world at the end of 2018. He is a sweet and dynamic little boy. My husband, is an Angeleno – born and raised but soon the four of us will be off to start our new journey in a brand new city – Kansas City in 2019!
